but what can i say?
i was a pc before shiny mac seduced me
and it's the first computer app that i actually liked
(back in the years where computers worked with MSDOS...)

ya. Es probablemente el programa más simple para dibujar y editar fotografías,
pero, ¿Qué puedo decir?
Yo era de PC antes de que la bonita y brillante manzanita de MAC me sedujese,
y es el primer programa de ordenador que realmente me entretuvo
(sí, por aquellos años en que el ordenador iba con MSDOS y tenías que escribir en una pantalla en negro para abrir Windows).
así que aquí tenéis la primera de la serie.

SHOES I WANT: CREEPERS... YES OR NO?
some of you will scream "NOOOOOOOO! UGLY SHOES ALERT!!!"
others will say... "they are so 2010..."
and both will probably be right.
but i always wanted to buy them and i never did.
i thought it was just a phase,and that it'd pass.
Just like when i was obsessed with overalls
(that time i did buy them and it did pass because i looked like a farmer)
but it didn't pass and i am still obsessing over them so... what do you say?
real creepers or a cute adaptation of oxford shoes?
(if you think it... my passion for the ss prada shoes comes from this obession)

otros diréis: "buuh, si están muy out. Son muy 2010"
y probablemente estaréis en lo cierto.
Pero siempre los he querido y nunca los he tenido.
Pensé: "Será una fase...pasará"
Como cuando me obsesioné con comprarme un peto.
(aquella vez sí me lo compré, y sí se me pasó en cuanto me vi vestida de triste granjera).
El caso es que no se me ha pasado, y que los quiero, así que la cuestión ahora es:
¿Unos creepers de verdad o una versión rockabilly de unos oxford molones?
(si lo pensáis mi pasión por los prada de este año, tiene algo que ver con esta obsesión)
Estos que he encontrado son de ASOS.
Según la Wikipedia los zapatos Creepers tienen su origen en los años posteriores a la Segunda Guerra Mundial: los soldados de las bases norafricanas llevaban botas de lona con suelas duras de goma para aguantar tanto el calor como las condiciones del suelo desértico.
Más tarde,muchos de ellos defienden su reputación en la noche londinense con este tipo de calzado convertido en zapato. Al desarrollarse en el ambiente de los barrios de Kings Cross y Soho, los zapatos llegan a conocerse como Brothel Creepers (Creepers de burdel).
Fueron el signo distintivo de los Teddy Boys y el estilo Rockabilly.

Having left the army, many of these ex-soldiers found their way to the nightspots of London wearing the same crepe-soled shoes and these became known as Brothel Creepers.
In the late 1950s, these shoes were taken up by the Teddy Boys

. HE WAS A SKATER BOY
i've recently seen the documentary Dogtown and Z-boys (gracias Juanma!) and i suddenly discovered yet another sport that has influenced the culture, fashion and ideals of many young people all over the world.
And it all started like everything does:
Passion
some kids' love for adventure and courage to push the limits a little harder.
and why not, their love for a little vandalism
they mixed all that with effort and they fought for what they wanted to become.
Influenced by the Surfing world, in the 70's they started something without precedent.
.they started a revolution.
"by doing something that everybody said was a waste of time, we ended up influencing kids all over the world"
.they went to the first competitions and found all these pretty acrobats doing handstands on their boards.
.they broke every rule.
.they rolled harder and more radical than anyone and did things no one had ever seen.
REALLY REALLY RECOMMEND WATCHING IT! SO COOL
even if you don't care about skating it's worth seeing it just for the aesthetics and the soundtrack

Hace poco he visto el documental Dogtown and Z-boys (gracias Juanma) y he descubierto otro deporte más que ha influido en la cultura, la moda, y los ideales de miles de jóvenes.
Los Z Boys eran originarios de Santa Mónica, en California y son quienes en los años 70 crearon la subcultura punk/skate.
Todo empezó como empieza todo:
.Pasión.
Las ganas de unos cuantos chavales de un barrio difícil, de aventura, de hacer skate y de llevar los límites de todo lo conocido, un poco más allá.
Mezclando todo esto con esfuerzo, y con las ganas de tener una identidad propia, lucharon por lo que querían ser.
Influenciados por el mundo del surf, comenzaron una revolución sin precedentes.
"Haciendo algo que todo el mundo decía que era una pérdida de tiempo, acabamos influyendo en chavales de todo el planeta"
Cuando llegaron a las primeras competiciones se encontraron a unos cuantos deportistas cursis que hacían el pino y otras acrobacias sobre la tabla.
Ellos rompieron todas las reglas
Hacían lo que nadie había visto nunca y de la manera más radical que se podía imaginar.
Recomiendo fervientemente que lo veáis.
Merece la pena aunque sólo sea por la estética y la banda sonora.
